10 tips for getting up early in the morning

1. And with a smile too!

Getting up early in the morning, for the majority of us, is torture! Leaving your cozy little bed to face the cold tiles in the very cold house, brrr... This is why many of us are often trying to find tips for getting up as late as possible in the morning. Some have made the “snooze” button on their alarm clock their best friend, others skip the shower or wash their hair to gain a few minutes of sleep, and there are even some who skip the shower. AND breakfast so you can get up at the very last minute.

But even with all that, we often wake up in a bad mood, feeling like we're still tired. If we tried to change the method then? To sleep better, and to find little tricks to finally learn how to be a morning person! Fourchette & Bikini helps us, and reveals 10 tips for getting up early in the morning!

2. Go to bed earlier at night

And yes, this is perhaps the most effective advice, but it is often the one we think about the least: to get up earlier in the morning (and on the right foot!), you have to start by going to bed less late at night!

Because if we go to bed at 2 a.m. every night and get up at 8 a.m., there is very little chance that our body will survive if we suddenly set our alarm clock at 6:30 a.m. The key is to manage to go to bed earlier in the evening, in order to enjoy a good restful sleep. So we stop being night owls and we no longer go to bed at dawn!

3. Schedule yourself to get up early

Our body is a machine that works according to a well-oiled mechanism: if we are used to getting up every day at 8 a.m., we will have to unteach it to our body and make it understand that we want to set up a new routine.

To do this, we will set our alarm clock at 7 a.m. every day of the week (weekends included, yes yes!), until our body integrates this new schedule. When we start waking up by ourselves at 7 a.m., it's good: our body has assimilated the change well, we can shout from the rooftops that we're an early riser!

4. Find a reason to get up early

Getting up early to have to make everyone's coffee and listen to the bleak morning news is hardly a dream program that's going to make us jump out of bed!

Whereas if we find a fulfilling activity that we like (reading a book, doing meditation or a yoga exercise, having the time to have a quiet coffee in peace, leafing through an online gossip magazine, etc. .) we will have motivation to get up earlier in the morning!

5. Place your alarm clock further in the room

The worst enemy of people who try to get up early in the morning? Undoubtedly the “Snooze” button of our alarm clock! But yes, this touch that allows us to go back to bed for 5 precious minutes as if nothing had happened...

So if we really want to learn how to get up earlier, we have to be a bit tricky: by putting the alarm clock further in the room, we will have to get out of our cozy bed to go and turn it off. So, once out of bed, all you have to do is get up!

6. See things positively

When our alarm clock rings in the morning, we often say to ourselves "pfff, great, I'm still going to hit the plugs to get stuck in a horrible day's work". Not very exciting all that... No wonder that with such thoughts, we prefer to stay at the bottom of our bed as long as possible!

Well, what if we reversed the trend by becoming a follower of positive thinking? Instead of telling ourselves that we are going to spend our day suffering from it, if we got out of bed and said to ourselves “what are the cool prospects available to me today? ". Lunch with a girlfriend? A meeting with a colleague who makes us laugh? Tennis at 6 p.m. with Chéri? In fact, there are plenty of pleasant things that happen to us in a day!

7. Prepare well in the evening

Preparing in the evening the outfit that we will wear the next day, the breakfast table, the important file in our work bag... it doesn't seem like much, but when we're done preparing all this in the evening, it helps us considerably! As we know that everything is ok, that we have not forgotten anything, that there will be no unpleasant surprises tomorrow morning, we fall asleep quietly, and we manage to sleep the sleep of the just.

And suddenly, the next day, you can get up earlier without feeling tired!

8. Be on the attack in the morning

Setting your alarm clock earlier does not necessarily mean getting up earlier! Because often, when our alarm clock rings, we always tend to grab a few more minutes in our cozy bed.

This is why if you want to be able to get up early in the morning, you have to be on the job as soon as your alarm clock rings. Of the we hear the soft ringing of our smartphone, let's go: we stretch gently, we drink a sip of water, we get our feet out of bed, and zou, we get up on the urge. Once you're out of bed, you've already done 99% of the job!

9. Ring your alarm clock earlier in the morning

Gently of course, so as not to experience too much jet lag: instead of programming it at 8 a.m. like every morning, we will start by putting it at 7:45 a.m. Then 7:30 the next day, 7:15 the day after, and so on until we have reached the desired time!

This smooth transition will save us dark circles, days with our heads in the gas, and liters of coffee!

10. Take up a morning run

Go for a run in the cool, it looks like torture when you don't know! But in fact, the morning run has many advantages. Already, we burn calories and we make the thighs of hell. Then, we release lots of endorphins, which put us in a great mood and in great shape for the whole morning. As a result, our body quickly calls for this little morning routine, which gives us additional motivation to get up early.

Finally, when you exercise in the morning, you sleep like a baby at night!

11. Prepare a pre-sleep routine

It's good to find small rituals in the morning, but to succeed in becoming a morning person, it's good to have them in the evening as well. Logic: if we repeat the same gestures every night before going to bed (take a shower, put on some cream, drink an infusion...), our body will gradually condition itself and understand that when comes shower time, he can start to go into sleep mode!

And when we are well prepared to sleep, we sleep better, and we are ready to get up early, with a smile as a bonus!
