8 things you can try to detoxify your lungs naturally
Pollution, bad habits and the environment affect the normal functions of the lungs leading to many problems in the respiratory system. In fact, approximately 65 million people suffer from chronic lung disease. Fortunately, there are ways to protect your lungs against these diseases.
Although this organ can heal some of the damage that affects it, this does not prevent a small effort from being made to maintain its health.
On the bright side, we hope everyone is healthy, so here are 8 expert tips that can help your lungs recover.
1. Drink detox drinks
Keep in mind that lung health begins to improve after two to three months. So you may feel that your health is better than it was after about a month. In this case, certain drinks can help reduce mucus and eliminate toxins from the lungs, namely:
honey and hot water
lemon water
green tea
carrot juice
Turmeric and ginger
Banana, spinach and blueberry drinks
2. Salt therapy
Salt therapy involves breathing air containing small particles of salt and is an alternative solution for treating lung problems such as asthma, bronchitis and cough. You can visit a salt cave or buy a Himalayan salt lamp and use it at home.
3. Eat oregano oil
Oregano oil is a natural decongestant. All you have to do is take two equal amounts of oregano oil and almond oil and make a mixture. Then place 1-2 drops of this mixture under your tongue for 3-5 minutes and then rinse your mouth with water.
To see the effectiveness of this method, it must be repeated 3 times a day for a period ranging from 1 to 4 weeks.
4. Do not shower with hot water more than 3 times a week
To improve your breathing, you can use a cool mist humidifier or take a hot shower 2-3 times a week to avoid skin problems. Also make sure that the temperature of the shower water is not too high and keep it between 32°C and 40°C.
5. Avoid certain products
Add detoxifying and anti-inflammatory foods, such as spicy foods, radishes, and herbs, to your diet, and always remember that certain foods increase mucus in your lungs, including:
Dairy products, including cheese, butter, yogurt, kefir and milk.
Processed foods such as canned meat and many other similar products.
6. Clean your tongue
A healthy, disease-free mouth plays a role in protecting your lungs. However, we often brush our teeth without taking care of our tongue, although tongue hygiene is important to avoid bacteria buildup.
7. Do breathing exercises by pursing your lips
These exercises help release air trapped in the lungs, improving breathing and creating a feeling of comfort. Here's how:
Relax your neck and shoulder muscles.
Now inhale slowly through your nose while counting to number 2, keeping your mouth closed. It's okay if you breathe naturally and shallowly.
Fold your lips and slowly begin to exhale air from your mouth for a count of 4. Do this exercise 4-5 times a day.
8. Exercise to clear mucus in your lungs
Lie on your back and bend your right leg. Then turn around so that you are on your right side.
Rotate your upper body and place it on the floor in a prone position.
Bend your left arm roughly at shoulder level.
Now turn your head to the right, making sure the position is comfortable and not painful for you.
Hold this position for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Repeat this exercise on the other side.
