Here's why people with brown eyes are important to have in our lives
People with brown eyes appear to be more reliable than those with other color eyes. Discover the reason with this study which also defines the shape of the face of someone who can be trusted and gives scientific explanations.
Our brains judge the reliability of others
Sometimes it happens that a person does not inspire confidence in us and this often seems to have to do with instinct. Only, this is a very scientific phenomenon. This brown-eyed people seem more worthy of being trusted than others. Published in the journal Plos One and conducted by Czech researchers, it also proves that it is not just about intuition. We constantly judge ourselves to try to gauge the qualities and emotions of others. This is due to the amygdala, an area in the brain. The latter also interprets the level of reliability of our interlocutors. It may well be that eye color is an important factor in determining this. A hypothesis based on hundreds of participants interviewed.
The shape of the face is taken into account
This research is based on interviews with 238 participants. They analyzed photos of 80 students. Among them, 40 men and women with blue eyes and the same number of individuals with brown eyes. As a result, it was the last population that won the hearts of the subjects interviewed. Another factor that increases the inspiration of confidence is a feminine face. Thus, women appear to be more reliable than their male counterparts. While blue eyes are not the most chosen, they are only chosen when the man has a large face. The shape of the face is also taken into account when it comes to feeling safe around someone. According to the researchers' results, the ideal face shape for a man is rounded with a big mouth and a big chin. For women, there were no trait criteria in the respondents' responses.
A third test
To see if the color brown really inspired confidence, the researchers took another assessment. They changed the color of the brown eyes by making them blue and vice versa. Ultimately, interviewees said the two seemed trustworthy to them. Thanks to these conclusions, the scientists were able to give the valid theory. It turned out that it was not the brown color of the eyes but rather the facial features associated with it that caused the perception of reliability. No question of color, therefore, but it is the facial features of people with brown eyes that inspire the confidence of the greatest number. The eye is an amazing organ and you probably don't know these 10 things about this complex globe. Did you know, for example, that your eyes see everything upside down before the brain does the rest?
