Swiss ball, the activity that makes you jump in pleasure!
This playful discipline offers a complete muscular reinforcement, which makes it an activity of choice after 60 years.
Find your balance
First used for medical use, especially by physiotherapists, Klein's ball (that's his name) has invaded the gyms. Courses - usually called swiss ball - are even entirely dedicated to him. We always start by working on our sitting position. Feet well anchored in the ground, the knees form a right angle (otherwise make sure the ball is inflated enough or change it!). The abdominal belt and the perineum tightened, one grows naturally. Impossible to sag: on a ball, it is the fall assured! This warm-up position, followed by small exercises (mobility of the pelvis, raising arms, small jumps ...), helps to become aware of his body (we speak of proprioception) thanks to the slight imbalance induced by this very mobile seat.
Forbidden to deflate
Many areas are solicited during sessions, tonic but accessible. The exercises adapt to the abilities of each one. The course always offers a progression in terms of difficulties, which makes it possible to surpass oneself and gain confidence. For example, a cladding posture, type "board", can practice the ball under the thighs. Those who feel empowered will advance their hands to stall at the knees and calves, and finally ankles for the most comfortable. If abdominal work is important, the legs and arms are not left behind. Just like the glutes, a crucial muscle group to be able to walk properly all the life. They act as stabilizer of the pelvis and the knee of the leg in support when one moves or goes up a staircase. No question of releasing them!
A balloon not so accessory
Object of torture this huge ball? Not at all, as long as you contract the muscles well to keep it close to you and avoid sliding on the carpet next door! Besides, she can in some cases help to perform certain exercises. It offers a welcome support to seniors, avoiding too much stress on painful areas (wrist for example). The class time passes quickly, one strings efforts in a fun way ... thoroughly balloons!
